The Chunky Basis sweater is a pattern for a simple raglan sweater, knitted in the round, top down. An ideal pattern for those who want to try a sweater on circular needles for the first time or who are not a fan of seaming a sweater, as this sweater is worked in 1 piece and shaped using German short rows. Apart from tucking in the yarn ends and blocking, no further finishing is required.
The Chunky Basis sweater is, as the name suggests, a basic sweater pattern. You can experiment with different types of yarn (combinations) and colors and thus achieve very different results. Are you more experienced in circular knitting? Then you can use this pattern as a base and try out different sleeves, necklines….
The Chunky Basis is the big sister to the original Basis sweater and is knitted with thicker needles.
