About the event

In this workshop you will learn to knit with hand-spun wool. The wool comes from various indigenous sheep breeds from Lier and the surrounding area. The hand-spun yarns of this sheep's wool have a unique character and consist of varying natural color gradations from white to gray and brown. Moreover, it is a sustainable, environmentally friendly and 100% natural product!

After a general introduction to how to knit with hand-spun wool, we will start knitting a baby/children's slipper. After this workshop you will have mastered all the techniques to easily knit other sizes at home. Wonderful to dive into the cold autumn and winter evenings with these handmade and warm woolen slippers!

How to register?

You can register by sending a confirmation email to info@lamatelier.be

For this workshop you must at least be able to cast on and knit.

Three different models are developed from easy to more advanced, so that every knitter can work at their own level. The pattern and handspun yarns for the baby/children's slipper are included, as well as hot/cold drinks, a tasty snack and lots of fun.

You can bring your own knitting needles (5mm) but can also be purchased on site (€12.50). After the workshop, additional yarns can also be purchased in the studio to continue working with at home.
