  • Perfect to wear in the evening when dusk falls or for an extra layer of warmth, that's the Schemer Slipover. Thanks to the deep armhole, it is also the ideal piece to layer over summer dresses, blouses and shirts with puffed or butterfly sleeves.

The design itself is simple, but the split hem that continues into the side seams and the different techniques keep the knitting exciting. This makes the pattern suitable for beginners looking for a challenge or experienced knitters looking for a quick project.

The slipover is worked bottom up. First, the ribs on the front and back piece are worked separately to create the split hem. Then they are put together on the circular needle and worked in the round up to the armhole. From the armhole, the front and back pieces are worked separately. To form the shoulders, Germanic short rows are used. The shoulder seams are closed by binding off with 3 knitting needles. Then the neck stitches are picked up and the neckline is worked in the round. The most important techniques are explained through instructional videos.

You can also purchase this pattern and the matching wool as knitting kit. Do you prefer to work with Knitting for Olive Dutch Merino? Then you can get one at Wolder!
